Meet Piney Wine and Spirits

Piney Wine and Spirits

Where Nathan and Brisket Serve Up Sips & Smiles

If you’re cruising down CO‑74 between Evergreen and Morrison, chances are you’ll stumble on a gem called Piney Wine & Spirits—a tiny bottle shop with major personality. Founded in 2021 by four friends, it’s basically the Cheers of Kittredge—but with somms, small‑batch wine, craft beer, and spirits. It’s the kind of place where you ask for a recommendation and walk out practically hugging your new favorite bottle.

🐾 Nathan & Brisket: The Dynamic Duo

At the heart of Piney is Nathan Turk, the co‑owner running day‑to‑day ops. Nathan is a certified sommelier, former bar manager in RiNo, and has spent time staging at Alinea in Chicago—so yes, he knows his wine.  But the real star? Brisket, his gentle Giant (a Great Dane) who casually lopes through the shop, wagging tail and melting hearts. They even named one of their wine club tiers after him: the Brisket Wine Club.

🍷 Wine & Spirit Picks That Hit Different

Piney stands out thanks to its curated focus: expect limited‑release wines, small‑production artisans, and Wild Capture or Storm Cellar bottles from Colorado’s Western Slope. If Nathan’s traveled to Tuscany or Champagne, you’ll taste that respect for terroir in the bottles he stocks.

The spirit shelf is equally impressive—think local micro‑distilleries, fine whiskey, unique gin, and seasonal craft beer. Guests admit they love that Piney treats drinks more like stories, less like commodity.

🍾 Join the Wine Club—Elk or Brisket?

Piney offers two monthly wine club tiers:

Elk Wine Club: Three bottles for ~$55, curated around a rotating theme.

Brisket Wine Club: Four bottles for ~$75 (often over $100 if bought separately), plus 10% off all other wine purchases. Oh, and yes, it’s named in honor of Brisket the Great Dane.

Themes range from “Summer Fun” bubbly to Italian varietals that’ll impress your in‑town or out‑of‑town squad.

🎉 Vibe Check: More Than a Store

What’s better than grabbing a bottle you love? Talking about it with someone who gets it. Piney staff includes certified sommeliers and spirits experts ready to suggest something special—even if you don’t know your Lambrusco from your Nebbiolo.

Expect laid‑back, friendly service: a local reviewer called them “soooo dope,” praised the selection, the ambiance, and yeah, the dog-friendly vibe. The store also stocks local candles, snacks, and even wine‑glass accessories.
